Winter Cozy - using texture

Winter isn’t coming, it’s here (if the temperature outside this morning is anything to go by). The colder it gets outside, the more we instinctively try to burrow down at home.

If you are looking to create a cozy haven in your home, one of the simplest ways to achieve this through texture.

Using chunky knits, faux furs, and contrasting weights and sheen on your fabrics are all simple ways that you can bring that winter warmth to your space.

This mood board shows how even a neutral palette can be used to create an intimate, and comfy feel. As with any decorating project, do some planning in advance: think about your budget, what items you want to replace, add or do some DIY with. Use this mood board or create your own filled with inspiration images that will guide you as you create a winter getaway in your own home.

Tips:

  • Layer! Think Layering when you are adding throws and cushions, and even rugs. A few layers in different textures is a quick and easy way to get a luxe, cozy look.

  • Don’t have a fireplace? Use the shimmer of candlelight instead. Placing candles inside glass containers, especially faceted ones or ones with angles, will give an extra glow to the space.

Then simply sit back, light the candles and pour the wine :)
